Free film screening of “Good Bye Lenin” movie

good-bye-leninCal State Fullerton is holding a free screening at 7 tonight (Monday Nov. 9)  of the movie “Good Bye Lenin,” which takes place in Berlin after the end of the Soviet occupation of East Berlin.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Berlin Wall, which symbolized the Cold War for a generation.

The free 7 p.m.  screening is open to the public in Room 514 of the Humanities-Social Sciences Building, where Cora Granata, associate professor of history and coordinator of the European studies program, will introduce the film by Wolfgang Becker.

The poster for the screening, sponsored by the European Studies Society and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society, announces: This comedy-drama depicts the personal challenges of a son and
mother in 1989 East Germany with the fall of the “Iron Curtain.”
