What’s on Bernie Madoff’s American Express bill?

esperanzaresortcaboOK, this isn’t really a deal, but I can’t help posting it.

Have you ever been curious about those high rollers who rent the $5,000-a-night suites at posh hotels? Because they’re sure not being rented by me, or people like me.

Well, Bernie Madoff’s son spent $8,400 in one night at the Esperanza resort (see picture above)  in Cabo — only one of the interesting charges revealed on Bernie’s monthly American Express bill, which came out in court and totalled $100,000. For one month.

My friend Liz Weston wrote about it here, and you’ve got to admit it’s pretty interesting.

Madoff, of course, in case you’ve been living on another planet, is the man convicted of the largest Ponzi scheme ever, in which he defrauded not only people out of their life savings but also many charitable institutions as well.
